ABOUT ME
I am a results-driven software engineer with over 16 years of experience delivering innovative, scalable solutions in both enterprise and startup environments.
Most recently, I launched JJTechPrints, a solo-operated 3D printing design business where I design and prototype original products. This entrepreneurial endeavor builds on my hands-on experience with software engineering, design, manufacturing, and product branding.
Previously, I served as a senior engineer at Walmart’s Store Nº8 incubator, where I helped guide two stealth R&D ventures to acquisition. My work there showcased strengths in full-stack development, scalable product architecture, DevOps automation, and leading complex technical initiatives.
I thrive in collaborative environments, excel at turning complex problems into practical solutions, and bring a unique mix of technical and creative skills. Beyond my professional projects, I explore generative art, IoT builds, automotive mechanics, cooking, and strategy card games.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Launched and currently developing a solo-operated 3D printing design business.
- Designing and prototyping original products for potential online and local sales.
- Managing branding, product photography, social media marketing, and market research.
- Built and scaled a custom device management platform to nearly 5,000 U.S. stores for Walmart’s AdTech organization.
- Optimized DevOps processes, reducing Docker image sizes and improving build pipeline speeds; migrated self-hosted GitLab to the company's GitHub stack.
- Designed and led the architecture and development of a new in-store hardware platform, creating technical diagrams, shaping development processes, and reducing delivery time from six months to two.
- Developed optimization tools for digital ad placement using Google’s OR-Tools and integrated Meta’s LLaMA AI model for new product experimentation.
- Deployed prototype to over 1200 devices across 11 Walmart supercenters that were used by over 200,000 customers daily, at Hopper, a stealth startup company under Store Nº8, Walmart's incubation arm.
- Spearheaded the conception and deployment of a progressive web app using Svelte. The app enabled seamless in-store device setup and configuration nationwide by 3rd party installers, significantly overcoming device install challenges and ensuring timely project delivery.
- Led end-to-end research, project management, and development of a versatile analytics and content management dashboard POC, showcasing innovative features for potential upsell opportunities that could drive revenue growth.
- Optimized DPI scaling ratios to enable on-screen barcodes on low-resolution displays in Kotlin application's WebView, employing Laplacian method variance analysis for effective DPI sharpness improvements.
- Migrated legacy MarTech Identity platform from internal data center to AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Led development of a next-gen Identity platform, integrating in-memory C++ batch engine, Node.js REST API services, and real-time Java engine.
- Awarded MVP recognition for elevating the team's expertise in cutting-edge technologies, particularly cloud computing, through proactive knowledge sharing efforts.
